Story by Karina Hernandez, Reporter

Fort Supporters Club restarted this fall. Senior Hannah Adams is the president of this group and believes that it’s a good way to support Student Council .

“It’s a good way for people in our school to be involved without running for StuCo and getting to help around our school”, Adams said.

Before the COVID-19 Pandemic, STUCO had a secondary group that was open for all students at the school, provided they had good citizenship. They rebranded the group to Fort Supporters Club because they felt it better explained what the purpose of the group was. They encourage other students to be in this club, for the reason that the people are very kind and the club is great for people who can’t participate in outside of school activities and clubs. Adams meets with the group sponsor Spanish Teacher Ms. Jessica Dudley to discuss and organize events during their club meeting.

Fort Supporters Club organizes events like the door decoration contest during Advisory time that is “Elf on the Shelf” themed. The winning class gets cinnamon rolls and the second place class gets ice cream tokens. Ms. Dudley feels that stuco can only handle so much at a time so fort support helps them plan events.

STUCO does a lot for our school but they can only do so much,” Ms. Dudley said. “Bringing in fresh ideas, more help and energy is always helpful and we are hopefully bringing that to them to give them more time to continue to create more events and activities.”

Ms. Dudley is the sponsor to the Fort Support group and started the group back up because students need more opportunities to participate in our school that do not require a sport or having a talent.

Fort support can also look good on college applications to wherever you decide to apply. Member Freshman Cloe Reynolds likes that they create fun activities for the students here at fort.

I enjoy being part of this club because of the people who are associated with it and all the fun activities we get to do,” Reynolds said..

Fort Support meets during advisory and students can email Hannah Adams, Victoria Reynolds or email/visit Ms. Dudley in room 44.
