Today is the start of Courtwarming Spirit Week. The week opens up with Class Color Day. This year’s theme is Road Trip. To show pride for their graduating year the freshman wear yellow, the sophomore’s  orange,  the juniors green and  blue is worn by the seniors.

“It’s pretty cool how they came up with the idea,”  freshman Joe Fritch said.

Every graduating class is given points for how many people participate in this weeks spirit week.

“I like having the class points because it encourages people to participate more, and seeing how some of the classes get really competitive,” sophomore Haydynn Roos said.

Over the past 10 years, Class Color Day has been celebrated six times during Courtwarming spirit week. However, they were not from ‘12-’17.

“I think it’s interesting how the class comes up with all kinds of ideas to wear their color with things like tu-tus, boas, face paint, shirts and hair bows,” junior Jessica Jones said.

The rest of week is filled with the following days:

Tuesday – Staycation or vacation- Sportswear of KC or favorite vacation spot.

Wednesday – Stoplight day, Green- Single, Yellow- It’s complicated, Red- “Stop, I’m taken.”

Thursday – Destination day! Freshman dress like you’re a Texan, Sophomores dress like New Yorkers, Juniors dress like hikers for Colorado Pride, Seniors dress beachy for Hawaii.

Friday – Indian Pride Day – Students sport their best school spirit wear.

“I really like the theme how and I will be participating all week and I’m looking forward to Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday,” senior Mackenzie Moore said. “I’m excited to participate.”
