The boys basketball team faced Grain Valley and fell short to the Eagles 48-45 on Jan. 21. Seniors Arthur Wyatt and Trent Hogland both had 11 points in the game. Wyatt feels that missed opportunities contributed to the loss.

“We need to make more shots,” Wyatt said. “We missed a lot of shots in that game.”

The team had a total of 28 rebounds during the game. Hogland and Wyatt also led the team with a total of six rebounds each. Hogland felt that they were prepared going into the game.

“My thoughts going into the game was to play solid defense and not let them hit a lot of three pointers,” Hogland said.

Woodward had two points in the game, four total rebounds, and one assist out of the eight. Freshman Isaac Woodward feels that the team pushed to win throughout the entire game.

“I would say we never gave up,” Woodward said. “We went hard the whole game.”

Junior Chase Stumfoll led the team with five assists, a deflection, and a steal. Wyatt also had four steals, and two deflections in the game. Sophomore Greg Menne also led in points with a total of six in the game.

The Indian’s will head back to the Eagles territory throughout this week in a tournament called the Sonic Showdown.
