Actors and stage crew members are tirelessly preparing for the Fort Osage fall musical for 2017 A Christmas Caroloriginally written in 1843 by Charles Dickens. The performances will be in the PAC on Nov. 30 and Dec. 1 at 7 p.m. as well as Dec. 3 at 2 p.m.

“I love the show,” senior Robert Pinnel said. “Acting in it has been a dream of mine since I was eleven.”

The musical follows Ebenezer Scrooge, portrayed by Pinnell, as he learns the true meaning of Christmas with the help of the three spirits of Christmas, the ghost of Christmas past, portrayed by senior Livia Halla, the ghost of Christmas present, portrayed by senior D’Angelo Talbot, and the ghost of Christmas future, portrayed by junior Zach Isbell.

The cast is really excited for this musical, it will bring different set designs than from years past such as a two-level set. Cast members have been working with Mrs. Hutter’s Introduction to stagecraft and advanced stagecraft classes as well as pit band led by Mrs. Kiser.

“The cast and crew really seem to work well together,” Halla said

The set crew have been building and painting nonstop since the beginning of the school year. With only two hours a day to work on the set, they are ahead of schedule and dress rehearsals with the set on stage are scheduled to start soon.

“I love this year’s show, acting is my passion any chance I get I take it” actor senior Jace Wilcut, who plays the narrator and schoolmaster, said.

This musical will be the 8th musical and 15th production the FOHS drama department has put on since Mrs. Hutter took over nearly nine years ago.
