The boy’s soccer team hosted the William Chrisman Bears on Oct. 1 coming up with a big win over the Bears 8-0. With the win over the Bears, it put the Indians 5-2 in their conference. Senior Beck Snowden believes the team should not be underestimated.
“Tonight really proves how successful we can be in conference and we have the potential to be contenders for conference champions,” Snowden said.
The team dominated the offensive half of the game. They utilized everyone’s skills, having five different players score and two more players paving the way through assists. Senior Jackson Taylor feels that the team’s success came from everyone giving 100% effort.
“We finished and got our shots on target. We just kept our heads up the whole game and kept playing,” Taylor said.
With this win the team moved into good conference possession. Coach Ra Del Hinckley knows his team can win the conference as long as they stick to what they know.
“The boys have been playing really well together. We know how to attack, we know the way to be successful getting the ball down the channels and getting it out wide and playing crosses and when we do that we’re successful so it looks really good and we do really well,” Hinckley said.
The Indians sit at 7-3 on the season. They will face Van Horn on Oct. 3.
