Twenty One Pilots released The Doubt (demo) after its popularity on TikTok. The Doubt (demo) was shown as an extra track on the 10th anniversary of Vessel celebration livestream in 2023. TikTok has random bursts of popular audios, always fluctuating on genres of music, and the Doubt (demo) ended up being one of these audios.
Due to this popular audio clip of the Doubt (demo), Twenty One Pilots ended up resurging in popularity after fans stopped listening, following the release of Trench. People who would pick on the fans of Twenty One Pilots now are listening to them, and these certain people would say it’s a “love song” and “being unfaithful in a relationship”. In reality, both the demo version and the original version of Doubt are about the strangling loss of faith in Jesus. Twenty One Pilots’ earlier music is about religion and faith, often seen in the Twenty One Pilots Self-Titled album and Regional at Best, their only non-Fueled By Ramen produced album.
This song is drastically different from the official one in the Blurryface album. The beginning of the song starts with a stronger beat compared to the officially released Doubt, the demo almost sounds like a weird, mashed-up remix. Tyler Joseph’s auto tune is very heavy in this demo, showing how different Blurryface would’ve been if we got this as a song instead. Blurryface shows the doubt of Tyler Joseph’s image of himself and his insecurities in these songs on the album.
