As Ms. Morgan Ewing walks into the classroom the students go silent when she approaches the front of the class and tells them the plan for the day. They all patiently sit and listen to her as she talks, she finishes what she is saying and the class gets to work on their own individual assignments.

Ms. Ewing has been teaching credit recovery on her own since the beginning of the second semester. She graduated from Northwest Missouri State University and was a student teacher at Kearney High School during fall of 2020 before coming to Fort Osage High School. She feels the school has good energy.

“I’ve always wanted to work in a bigger school,” Ms. Ewing said. “(Fort Osage High School) has a great reputation and I think the school is full of positivity and its main goal is it wants to help kids and that’s my main goal as well. Ïts been a great positive experience and I’m excited to see what happens next.”

Ms. Ewing’s favorite part about being a teacher is waking up everyday and getting to help kids. Sophomore Austin Samson feels that Ms. Ewing helps build positive relationships with her students.

“She gets to know the students on a personal level so she can understand them better,” Samson said in a snapchat message. “She makes the classroom feel like a learning environment and makes students want to actually complete their work.”

Ms. Ewing tries to create a positive environment for her students and tries to help them in any way she can. Junior Jada Brockman feels Ms. Ewing has helped her become a better student.

“She will go above and beyond to help her students out, she helps me keep on track and helps you if you get behind to keep up,” Brockman said in a snapchat message.

Ms. Ewing tries to be a positive influence and role model for her students.  Ms. Ewing enjoys being a part of her students’ success.

“At the end of each day I have a part in helping each and every one of my students become successful, not only academically but helping them in their future endeavors as well,”

A student walks up to Ms. Ewings desk and asks her a question about a math problem. They work through it together and the student returns back to their seat. The classroom goes silent again as everyone continues working.
