Fort Osage High School is holding Extreme Test Day on Oct. 22. Extreme Test Day is dedicated to providing students with a calm and affordable testing environment. College and Career Advisor Ashley Ginger is proud everyones hard work of bringing a free ACT to Fort Osage has finally paid off.
“We have been trying so hard to get a free ACT for you all for several years and so this year it finally happened. It does feel late for these seniors but we’ve got it for these students now,” Ginger said.
Extreme Test Day offers students a way to take the ACT for free on a weekday. Every Junior who has never taken the ACT will be taking the test and every Senior who would like a chance to improve their score has a free opportunity to do so. Junior Kendyll Mickey believes taking a whole day during the week will benefit her greatly.
“I think I’ll do better coming in just on a regular school day so I don’t have to come in on a weekend when my brain just thinks I’m off,” Mickey said.
Students who have already taken the ACT, WorkKeys, or ASVAB can take the day to job shadow or visit a college of their choice. Senior Nicole Bisbee is taking the day to visit Missouri State University. She thinks that extreme test day will allow students to become more prepared for their future.
“It’s pretty beneficial because it gives you a chance to take tests without missing school or prepares you for where you want to go to college or what job you want to do,” Bisbee said.
Freshmen will be taking the practice English and Math EOCs, Sophomores will be taking the pre-ACT, Juniors will be taking the ACT, WorkKeys, or ASVAB test, and Seniors can take the ACT, WorkKeys, ASVAB, retake the constitution test, or go on a college visit or job shadow.
