WINNER! The average joes pose for a picture with their champion t-shirts. The team faced the Danish Warriors and played 3 sets to win the match. Senior Landon Sullivan is proud of his teams come back in the 3rd set. “The key was communication and not letting our feelings get to us, we came back and pushed through,” Sullivan said.

The 6th annual Powder Buff was held on Wednesday, March 13th. 7 teams entered, Air Traffic Control, Blister Sisters, Average Joes, Bard So Hard, Bubble Guppies, Danish Warriors, and Ali Muli. These 7 teams were split into two pools.

Danish Warriors and Average Joes faced off in the championship match. Average Joe’s came out victorious. Junior Alex Snodgrass believes that teamwork leads the way to success.

“It’s just the little thing, we had a good mindset and played as a team,” said Snodgrass.

Any boy was able to enter a team of 6 or more. Senior STUCO class representative Riley Filmore believes that the Powder Buff is an event that brings everyone together in a unique way.

“I think it gives people a sense of community and brings friendships together by enticing them through an activity,” Fillmore said.

The event lasted 2 and a half hours. The competitive spirits were high the whole night. Senior Lake Sullivan let his voice lead the team.

“There were stressful moments in there but we all stuck through to the end and we all did our part to get that dub,” Sullivan said.

The powder buff was organized by Student Council members Riley Filmore and Jackson Taylor. STUCO looks forward to another successful year in the 2024-2025 school year.
