‘It Ends With Us’, rated PG-13, is a 2024 movie based on the New York Times Best Seller of the same name, written by Colleen Hoover. Lead roles include Blake Lively, Justin Baldoni, and Brandon Sklenar. This story follows a young woman named Lily Bloom (Played by Lively) who opens up her own business and struggles to escape an abusive relationship. She ends up having encounters with a man named Ryle Kincaid (played by Baldoni) at her business. 

The movie starts slow, but once Lively Flower Shop opens it eases into a good story. This story picks up in Boston Massachusetts. Throughout the film, you get to see past flashbacks, with her family and the relationships she had with her father and Atlas, her current boyfriend, who has been abusive to her just like her father. Lilly soon breaks free of her relationship with Atlas at the end of the film after giving birth to her daughter. The film truly centers around breaking cycles of trauma and may be triggering or even comforting to someone who has had the same experiences.

I think this movie is a perfect balance between romance and drama and I would recommend it for a girl’s movie night. It sends a strong powerful message to the audience, showing the courage to break free from toxic and abusive relationships.
