National Honors Society hosts annual Haunted House

The Fort Osage High School National Honors Society is hosting the Haunted House on Wednesday, October 25th from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. starting in the cafeteria.

The Haunted House is a family-friendly event for young children. National Honors Society students dress up as characters from popular movies while passing out candy. Dr. Heidi Dailey thinks that the children enjoy it every year.

“We Identify some of the popular movies that younger children would like,” Dr. Dailey said. “The children seem to really enjoy it every year.”

Over the last few weeks, National Honors Society has been preparing for the Haunted House. Each member is responsible for bringing in candy and decorating their room in the house.  Senior Christopher Brown believes all the preparation pays off.

“Preparing for the haunted house can be a lot,” Brown said. “But once it is all said and done it’s worth it.”

The cost of admission is two canned goods or two dollars and will benefit Food Harvesters Food Bank. Junior Lupe Yamauchi feels that it is a good cause.

“Most people don’t realize all the cans get donated,” Yamauchi said. “It’s all for a good cause.”

The event kicks off at 6 p.m. tonight in the cafeteria.
