BASICS. Performing a single crochet, Juniors Molly Friel (L) and Claire Abbott (R) crochet hats as their first project for the crochet club. Friel enjoys seeing the progress as she crochets. “Some people think that it is repetitive, but I feel crochet is just really relaxing,” Friel said.

Story by Ripken Kiesling

The crochet club began on March 10, 2023. The first several meetings were just getting to know how to crochet and different stitches you can use. Club sponsor, Ms. Angleique Jungmeyer feels like they should give their product to other people.

“Next year, I want to start a project where we can make things and then put them in a raffle for project grad,” Ms. Jungmeyer said.

Right now the club is making hats. Junior Christopher Brown feels ecstatic that the crochet club was created.

“The first meeting was awesome because there were a lot of people and we all just had a good time,” Brown said.

There are currently 15 members. Junior Molly Friel loves that Ms. Jungmeyer started the crochet club.

“Ms. Jungmeyer has a lot of experience with crochet and she has already shown me a lot of tips,” Friel said. “She really is the perfect sponsor.”

Membership is still open. Contact Ms.Jungmeyer in room 208 for more information.
