WWE RAW returned to the T-Mobile Center in Kansas City on Monday. As the clock ticked towards 7 pm., everyone grabbed their tickets and seats inside the arena, excited and ready for the show. People filled in the rows with food, signs, and title belts. Getting the tickets was my favorite part because a worker there was kind enough to give my mom 5 free tickets instead of us paying.
The lights went out as the projector displayed “THEN NOW FOREVER”. Becky Lynch’s theme made every fan cheer and scream in excitement. Becky received a standing ovation after winning the women’s world championship in the main event of RAW last week. Then Liv Morgan and Nia Jax come out and set up a match for later in the night. Next, we see IShowSpeed, Logan Paul, 3x Super Bowl champion Patrick Mahomes, and Judgement Day walking into RAW.
Another star moment of the night was all the draft picks that RAW and Smackdown picked. Hall of Famers like Dudley Boyz, Stephanie McMahon, John “Bradshaw” Layfield, and Ron Simmons all appeared at each round coming out for each brand to announce the picks. The most favorable moment of the night was when Patrick Mahomes let Logan Paul use his 3 superbowl rings to knock out Jey Uso but failed and ended up hitting JD McDonagh which led to him getting jumped and a returning Braun Strowman knocking everybody out to help Jey.
Titus Smith, a Junior at Oak Park High School, went to the WWE event and feels that the best part was CM Punk and Drew McIntyre segment.
“My favorite part of the show was when Drew McIntyre called Cm Punk out which led to Punk calling McIntyre the B-word and then everyone laughing and cheering,” Titus said.
The main event hosted a six-man tag team match including Jey Uso, Ricochet, and Andrade vs The Judgement Day. Jey Uso had the crowd going crazy during his entrance with everyone doing the yeet dance with their hands in the air, bobbing. His team ultimately picked up the win with a spear and Uso splash 1,2,3. This led to a face-off between Priest and Jey ending the show.
Stephon Steen, an eighth grader at Osage Trail Middle School thought the show was really cool his first time coming and would come again.
“The show was very fun and I liked it, but Jey uso entrance was my favorite part of the show,” Stephon said.
You can watch Jey Uso take on Damien Priest for a shot at the world heavyweight title on Saturday, May 4 on Peacock at 1 pm EST/12 pm CST.
