Pinnell’s talents shine bright

Story by Skyler Adams, Reporter

Senior Robert “Bobby” Pinnell not only is a student, but is an actor, dancer and yerd (yearbook nerd). Over Pinnell’s high school career, he has been a part of the performing arts at the school. The fall musical was “The Christmas Carol” and Pinnell earned the lead role of Ebenezer Scrooge.

“Earning the lead role in my senior year musical feels, I assume, as it would earning the starting quarterback position on our football team,” Pinnell said.

Pinnell is the president of Drama Club, one of the three editors of the 2018 yearbook and one of the founding students of Fort Osage first ever Student Technology Center. Senior Logan Darr appreciates what Pennell did to help start the tech program.

“The technology center has definitely made a huge improvement,” Darr said.  “Also with the former students, they made it possible to learn. It’s pretty amazing how the founders and Mrs. Smith came up with a class to help the school community.”

From the start of his freshman year, Pinnell has great pride in his many accomplishments throughout his high school career.
Pinnell is an entertainer at Worlds of Fun’s Live Entertainment department as well. He has had many opportunities to meet and work with great talent who he has learned from and loves.

“Earning my seat with the Live Entertainment family at Worlds of Fun has changed me for the better. I’ve never felt more safe,“ Pinnell said. “I’ve feel appreciated and loved in a working environment. As an LGBTQ+ youth, it is sometimes difficult to feel this way in the workplace, but at Worlds of Fun, my lifestyle and talent is treasured.”

Pinnell will be finishing his high school career in May as he walks the stage into adulthood. Pinnell has been applying for colleges  in order to study performing arts and hopes to make it into a career.
