The powder-puff flag football game returned to Fort Osage High School for the first time in recent school history. The juniors defeated the seniors 36-18 on Oct. 19, 2022. Stuco ran the Powder-puff game and led by Junior Destiny McDonald and Senior Chase Stumfoll.

Ms. Lindsay Thompson and Ms. Abbigail Hix coached the juniors. The juniors came up with five touchdowns and three interceptions. Sidney Sullivan had three touchdowns and Kaia Duncan had two interceptions. Sidney Sullivan led the teams in scoring with three touchdowns. She believes that the Juniors could not be stopped.

“We kind of winged a lot of plays but Lily really brought us together,” Sullivan said. “We had a mentality no one could stop.”

Ms. Paige Maske and Mr. Joshua Wilson coached the seniors. The seniors had a total of three touchdowns. Alannah Hair and Macie Smith both had a touchdown in the game. Hair thinks that it was a good time.

“It was a fun time even though we lost,” Hair said. “Most of us are athletes so we are competitive so it added to it all.”

Students came out to support the girls, wearing red for the seniors and black for the juniors. Sophomore Nicole Bisbee believes that it was a creative idea.

“I think it’s cool that we did the powder-puff game, since we’ve never had one,” Bisbee said. “It was fun watching them.”

The cost of the game was one canned good per person. They collected 100 pounds of canned goods that were donated to the Fort Osage Food Bank.
