The Perfect Couple; is a new Netflix limited series rated MA for Mature audiences. Directed by Susanne Bier, starring Nicole Kidman, Eve Hewson, and Dakota Fanning. This mysterious story starts with a woman named Amelia Sacks (played by Eve Hewson) engaged to her soon-to-be husband Benji Winbury (played by Billy Howle). Their wedding takes place at Benji’s parent’s shoreside mansion, for a wedding eve party, family and friends gather when all of a sudden a body washes up the next morning. The Bride and Groom’s family are incongruous and seem to dispute each other without realizing that the groom’s family is very wealthy. His mother Greer is a famous author writing books about how she’s had such a so-called “perfect” relationship with her husband. However, the bride’s family is a simple suburban family with not as many high standards
The show has many clues throughout the series, secrets hidden in plain sight. It has a good plot but not much background to the characters in the beginning but it slowly develops over time and finds out their true colors. The storyline keeps you at the edge of your seat wondering who killed who? Who is lying? And who is telling the truth? I will say, that I was a little disappointed at the end finale finding out who murdered the maid of honor. I expected it to be someone more close to her but it’s someone you least expect. All though, it was a good show overall.
There is an overall message to this story, I would say never let your guard down and be careful who you trust. People who enjoy a good mystery thriller would love this “over-the-weekend watch”
