GRINNING. Senior Cruz Navarro poses for the school produced hype video. Navarro believes relationships with his teammates are important. “I’m excited for my senior year,” Navarro said.

As the opposing team passes the ball, Senior Cruz Navarro jumps up to steal it. He begins to run up the court where he then jumps and slams the ball through the rim.

Senior Shooting Guard Cruz Navarro has been a member of the boys basketball team since freshman year, but has been playing varsity since sophomore year. He has played basketball since before he could remember.

“I’ve been playing since I was very young,” Navarro said. “But I have been playing competitively since 3rd grade.”

Navarro does not plan on going to college, as he plans on starting an entrepreneurship journey. Junior Dylan Ball believes that Navarro keeps him on track.

“I’m going to miss his leadership pushing me forward,” Ball said. “He makes sure i’m on the right path to do things and stay on that path.”

Navarro’s favorite memory is the early mornings in the gym to see progression throughout the years. His brother Sophomore Jax Navarro believes Cruz is a leader and plays a big role on the team.

“He is very vocal and tells people what to do,” Jax said. “Him being one of the only seniors makes it so we look up to him.”

Cruz feels that his brother is his biggest motivator. He is looking forward to senior year and all the possibilities.

“Growing up you dream about senior year,” Cruz said. “I’m excited to see what’s going to happen.”

He lands on his feet with a grin. The crowd is roaring and his teammates are ecstatic. He then gets ready to play defense and try for another stop.
