Softball players Aryia Morton, Ayianna Morton, Mikayla Stickler, Sidney Sullivan, Lily Wait, Kyliana Bisbee, and Haylee Wait earned a spot on the Missouri High School Softball Coaches Association.
According to Coach Vannesa Gage to qualify for volleyball, players had to have played in 75 percent of varsity matches, while having a 3.6 cumulative Grade Point Average from athletes’ entire career including the 2022 1st Semester. Freshman Volleyball player Leiniva Faitau believes it just takes being a student to get the award.
“If you wanna be an athlete you have to be able to maintain good grades,” Faitau said. “You have to be a student first.”
According to Missouri High School Softball Coaches Association to qualify for Academic All State softball players had to have a Cumulative Unweighted GPA after the Fall 2022 semester of 3.7. Softball Coach Kelly Sullivan feels that the players deserved the award with the effort they put in.
“They realized how important it is to be a successful team,” Sullivan said. “ It not only takes place on the field but in academics.”
The softball team also qualified for Academic All State because they had a team GPA of 3.470. Junior Softball player Lily Wait thinks that
“I work hard in my classes and so do my teammates,” Wait said. “It’s nice to see the effort pay off.”
