The Marvels better than expectations

The new Marvel movie The Marvels, rated PG-13, released in theaters November 10th. Despite having the lowest opening weekend ever in franchise history I thought this movie was solid.

The movie mainly follows Brie Larson as Captain Marvel, Iman Vellani as Ms. Marvel, and Teyonah Parris as Captain Rambeau. The villain Dar-Benn, played by Zawe Ashton, is getting revenge on Captain Marvel for what she did to the Kree empire.

I believe the storyline was great and Dar-Benn was a good counter to Captain Marvel. I also loved that when they all discovered a new power, they all could do, the three practiced together. The three really made a great team and I hope they continue with this trio in years to come. The mid credit scene really shows what they are going to do for the future. I haven’t watched the show Ms. Marvel and I was still able to understand what her powers were so Marvel did a good job with that. There were several comedic parts in the movie especially with Goose the cat. The effects were nothing to rave about as it just seemed like the same effects throughout the movie.

You don’t need to be too caught up with Marvel movies to understand what is happening until the very end, which I really enjoyed. Since Marvel is making it to where you have to watch all the shows to keep up, you don’t really have to do that for this movie which was a relief.

Just like any other Marvel movie stay till the end because you will not want to miss the mid credit scene. The mid credit scene will keep you wondering and ready for what Marvel is going to do with it. There is no after credit scene so do not stay after the mid credit scene.
