The final whistle is about to blow on Sienna Sullivan’s high school soccer career, but the memories and impact she made will last a lifetime. Sullivan is a High School Senior. She is involved in varsity soccer, varsity tennis, pole vaulting, and is heavily involved in church outside of school. Sullivan plans to attend Blue River to study general education, with hopes to move on to a bigger institution to receive her bachelor’s degree.
Sullivan says the advice she has for the upcoming classes is to be themselves.
“Living for the expectations of others is not going to get you anywhere,” Sullivan said
Sullivan has played soccer for all four years of high school. Her favorite memory during her years of soccer is when she and all of her friends impulsively tried out for the team with zero experience.
“Our first game we had off-sides called on us ten times because we had no idea how to play soccer,” Sullivan said.
Teammate and friend Kyra Rivera says that Sullivan’s love for God, Friends, and her family is something she’s always admired about her.
“She always wants me to be the best version of myself, and I wish the same for her,” Rivera said.
Teammate Isabel Baggs doubles down on this sentiment, showcasing her humor.
“Sienna has had such a positive impact on our team by being such a bubbly, kind, and hilarious person,” Baggs said.
The Fort Osage soccer team is ending with a record of 12-6. Sullivan feels that her mom has played a big, inspiring role in her life.
“She is a hard-working and loving person who has always been there for me every step of the way,” Sullivan said.
As Sullivan steps off the high school field and looks toward the future, she carries with her the lessons, friendships, and hardships that she has been through during her years of dedication to soccer.
