Homecoming week kicked off Sept. 16 with all the spirit days. The school participated in spirit week, a pep assembly, a football game and the homecoming dance.
Royalty was presented during halftime of the football game on Sept. 20. The student body voted Seniors Lupe Yamauchi and Isaac Woodward as the 2024 Homecoming Queen and King. Yamauchi appreciates what her classmates think of her.
¨Being voted Queen gives me validation from my peers,¨ Yamauchi said. ¨I appreciate how my peers perceive me.¨
Other queen candidates were Isabella Miller, Ella Grandgenett, Hannah Roberts, and Isabel Baggs. Other king candidates included Anthony Thompson, Gage Hanke, Cade Tucker, and Sencere Ray. Woodward enjoyed winning with Lupe.
¨I felt good winning with Lupe,¨ Woodward said. ¨It was our goal last year to win back to back, we won royalty junior year and now this year.¨
Along with King and Queen crowning, underclassmen royalty also took place. Junior royalty included Olivia Dziura and Mauricio Bears. Sophomore royalty included Sadie Bryant and Ackalyn King. Freshman royalty included Amilia Burt and Landon Long. Burt believes royalty was a fun experience.
¨It was a fun experience,¨ Burt said. ¨It was not as scary as i thought it would be.¨
