Fort Osage is holding Courtwarming 2024 on February 3rd in the gym and is crowning royalty on February 2nd during the doubleheader in the Fieldhouse.
Students can only be nominated for courtwarming royalty if they participate in one extracurricular. Sophomore Liz Clardy feels that most people go to the dances to have fun with friends.
“It’s time to just hang out with friends and make memories,” Clardy said.
The student body votes for the candidates by grade. Meaning there are four sets of winners, one for each class. Sophomore candidate, Lilly Beckner believes her fellow students push her to do her best.
“I feel my classmates are a constant reminder to keep getting better, they push me to try harder and do the best I can,” Beckner said.
Nominees have to be enrolled in a minimum of six classes. Student council member Sidney Sullivan believes that the requirements for the king and queen are fair.
“The requirements to run for Royalty are very fair. We want the king/queen who wins to be a good student and citizen who represents our school well,” Sullivan said.
The event begins at 7 pm and ends at 10 pm and the theme is Osage Odyssey.
