When you think of high school dances you probably think of bad music, people telling you what to do, drunk teenagers showing up and people just trying to start drama and fights, but Fort Osage Homecoming was nothing like that.
The DJ played great music, instead of being forced to listen to what our parents liked when they were younger, he played things teenagers listen to nowadays. This made me realize I am very grateful that I got to buy a new beautiful dress and get my hair, makeup and nails done for a fun night like this.
After hearing the positive feedback on the dance, Sophomore Rileigh Rogers feels that bringing everyone together leads to a fun night and all smiles.
“Just hanging out and dancing with everyone,” Rogers said, “It was a great experience”.
As the lights came up and the staff sent everyone out, looking back I didn’t see anyone having a bad time, actually, everyone had smiles on their faces. It is important that everyone is safe after these events, and you probably think all students went home just to throw ragers and make bad decisions but that’s not true at all.
Junior Nevaeh Walters feels that her night was better than anything.
“I went home and hung out with my sister,” Walters said, “I watched movies with my boyfriend also, overall it was a pretty chill night.”
I have not heard about any bad things happening, no fights, drama, or rule breaks, but I don’t doubt if a teenager got caught with a vape. This dance was peaceful and everyone had fun that I know of, I’m glad everyone got the opportunity to attend this event that everyone should experience without issues.
Thinking about it now, this homecoming already has me thinking about what dress I’m going to get for court warming and where I’m taking pictures. Let’s just hope it stays drama free, peaceful and the DJ still plays relevant music.
