DRESSING UP WITH CO-WORKERS. Cafeteria and Janitorial staff poses showing off their Halloween outfits.

The date is October 31st, the streets are filled with blood-covered zombies, big hairy spiders, and scary clowns with red balloons. The smell of candy is present, and the echoes of people’s screams bounce through the fog filled streets. It’s Halloween and people can’t wait to dress up to celebrate the spooky holiday. Some are even suiting up into their costumes at 5:30 a.m. to show it off at school.

You might be wondering, “Can we even dress up in costumes at school?” Turns out it’s perfectly normal, if you follow the right rules. For starters, if your costume involves a mask, leave it at home. Freshman Principal Joe Bedard feels that in order for students to be safe, they need to see your face.

“One year we had a T-rex costume. We have to see who that person is, the face has to be visible to the public, “ said Bedard.

Your costume can’t contain any weapons, real or fake. Items that might be looked at as a weapon are banned as well. Freshman student Keylee Willbanks feels that students are too old to be dressing up.

“I feel like we are too old and when you get older it doesn’t feel the same as a little kid“ said Keylee Willbanks

Even though students aren’t dressing up at school, many are still dressing up for the holiday, even if they feel too old to trick or treat. Freshman Brooklynn Yaghoubian believes Halloween is the one day a year you should dress up.

“I feel that it’s that one day, like, that you can just like dress up and be anything,” said Yaghoubian.

Today we have seen students dressed up as Sonic, Mario and even the devil. All were following the rules and all were having a great time celebrating the holiday.
