The school hosted its annual Freshman Preview Night where Osage Trail Middle School 8th graders and their families got information about high school activities. The event took place in the Performing Arts Center and Gym No. 3 from 6 to 7 p.m. on Jan. 24, 2023. New Freshman Principal Mr. Joseph Bedard and new Freshman Counselor Mr. Patrick Reinkemeyer organized and hosted the event for the first time.

“I thought it went really great, it felt really good to get up and talk to the rising freshman & their parents,” Mr. Reinkemeyer said. “It was great to see their excitement from talking to coaches and advisors and seeing what they could do next year.”

Around 100 students and parents attended the event. Current 8th grader Dominic Tapia thought that it was a good and interesting experience.

“I’d say it was fun meeting people and learning about new classes,” Tapia said.

The event showcased 30 clubs, activities, and co-curricular classes and introduced future high schoolers to their options for school involvement. Spanish Teacher Ms. Jessica Dudley felt that it was nice for students to prepare for their next school year.

“It was great to see so many students and parents prepare themselves for the Freshman year and what to participate in,” Ms. Dudley said.

The students used this information to help complete their schedules for the 2023-24 school year.
