‘Night Swim’ drowns in it’s own plot

DROWNING.+Night+Swim+released+on+Jan.+5th+fails+to+deliver+a+coherent+story+line+and+relies+on+jump+scares.
DROWNING. ‘Night Swim’ released on Jan. 5th fails to deliver a coherent story line and relies on jump scares.

On January 5, 2024, the horror film Night Swim was released in theaters. The movie is about a star baseball player, Ray Waller, who was forced into retirement due to injury. Ray Waller and his wife Eve Waller with their two children move into a new house with a swimming pool that holds a dark secret. An evil force that drags the family into the depths of inescapable terror.

Going into this movie, I was expecting it to be good but I was ultimately disappointed by the plot of the movie. Unlike other scary movies where the killer always comes back and kills people, this movie just had an evil pool that needed to take someone as a sacrifice to heal someone else and once you find out the plot of the spring water, the movie kinda felt pointless.

Overall I feel the movie was good and had a lot of jump scares but the plot of the movie is not as satisfying or entertaining. Wait till it comes on streaming platforms to watch it.
