Daddy’s Home 2 is a Hilarious Sequel

I think we can all agree that Sean Anders’, “Daddy’s Home,” was a hilarious hit back in 2015. BUT the sequel, “Daddy’s Home 2,” will have you rolling on the floor, in the middle of a packed theatre, laughing.

Released on November 10, 2017, this American Christmas comedy starring Will Ferrell, Mark Wahlberg, Linda Cardellini, John Cena, John Lithgow, and Mel Gibson is a film to see for anyone over the age of 13. It draws a rating of PG-13 due to the crass humor, strong language from adults and kids, iffy messages, father and adult son kissing on the lips, kids getting drunk off of spiked eggnog, along with some minor violence/obscenity.

The story continues from “Daddy’s Home” into the sequel when Dusty (Mark Wahlberg), and Brad’s (Will Ferrell) daddies show up for Christmas, and the family decides to have their Christmas celebration all together for the kids’ sake, and that’s when things get hectic and hilarious.

As soon as Brad’s daddy, (John Lithgow) gets off of the airplane, he embraces his son and they proceed to kiss on the lips for an awkwardly long time. On the contrary, Dusty’s father arrives in a slow-mo scene looking manly and intimidating, approaching his son not with a kiss, but with a gruff look.

The film continues with comedic chaos between the blended family, ending in a congruent family denouement.

I’m not too fond of cheesy family moments, which happens in an odd way toward the end of this film. But, the comedic harmony of this movie between the many well known actors and actresses is outstanding. 10/10 recommendation.
