Mr. Troy Emenecker stands confidently at the front of his classroom, smoothly motioning towards the smartboard as he carefully explains the day’s directions. Students can be seen quickly transitioning from paying close attention to Mr. Emeneckers directions to working hard on the assignment at hand. As the students continue to work, Mr. Emenecker can be seen quietly pacing around the room to calmly engage with his students.
Mr. Emenecker teaches English Language Arts and has a degree in journalism. Mr. Emenecker feels he will be able to integrate his experience in journalism into his teaching.

“Some of that experience comes up here and there in working in class, and so that’s helpful for teaching kids how to write in different ways,” Emenecker said.
Mr. Emenecker incorporates a wide array of topics into his unique take on the English curriculum. Senior Avery Allen believes Mr. Emenecker teaches a distinctive perspective to his students
“It feels like he teaches different stuff from my other teachers, we’re always learning something new,” Allen said.

Mr. Emenecker teaches English Language Arts classes including English IV and Honors English. Senior Eric Ayala appreciates the level of effort Mr. Emenecker puts into his teaching.

“It feels like he really cares,” Ayala said. “He assigns a lot of work, but he makes sure that we understand what’s going on, he doesn’t leave us in the dark.”

Mr. Emenecker originally taught at Sossaman Middle School in Arizona before moving to Missouri in July of 2022. He believes that the new environment will offer him unique perspectives to gain a better understanding of students and their feelings.

“I like that there is a lot of diversity,” Mr. Emencker said. “I like that I get to learn where students are coming from, and how their geography and environment affects what they are interested in,” Mr. Emencker said.

As students conclude their work, Mr. Emenecker can be seen returning to the front of the classroom, calmly and quickly elaborating on the remaining directions for the day before allowing his students to engage in discussion over the morning assignment.
