STAND. Student play and sing worship songs at Fields of Faith. The student lead the audience through 3 different worship songs before the students began the event. Tristan Hinckley knows students heart were touched through Fields of Faith. “We made a real impact on the people that were here and the community.”

Club 121 hosted Fields of Faith on April 26th, where they invited students in grades 8 through 12 of all districts. The goal was to give students the opportunity to connect through an evening of praise, prayer, and inspiring testimonies. Senior Riley Filmore believes the night had major success and great power over the students.

“I think they have built connections with other people around them and built tighter connections in their faith,” Fillmore said.

Club 121 invited retired history teacher and cross-country coach Chris Early back to share his amazing experiences. Coach Early spoke to inspire students to take a big step forward in their faith by standing firm in what they believe and not being silenced by anything. Coach Early realizes the strength and courage it takes to stand in faith, this is why he believes in events like this.

“It’s important because you get a group of kids talking about Jesus and obviously that is significant in public education where it’s almost antagonistic towards Christianity,” Early said.

Three brave students stood before the audience and gave their personal testimonies. Tristan Hinckley, Riley Filmore, and Alina Wackerman. Wackerman was extremely nervous before her speech but walked away feeling proud and empowered. Through Wackerman’s walk in her own faith, she has found that Jesus will always be there for the good and bad and hopes the community can find Jesus for themselves.

“There still are people out there that love Jesus that are willing to believe in the good in you and are willing to talk to you and you must find them and be one of those people,” Wackerman said.

This was the second annual Fields of Faith held at Fort Osage High School. Tristan Hinckley is proud of the event and hopes the future Club 121 members continue to build on it. Hinckley loves the community fields of faith bring.

“I think a big part of this is getting connected to people of like mind. Sometimes it’s hard to find people who are like you in this sense so coming together tonight and just getting to know each other,” Hinckley said.

People of all ages gather together to pray over one another, unified through their faith.
