SIDELINE REPORTING. Senior Taryn Sinthusy (L) is observing and reporting with camera operator Junior Peyton Ramirez (R) during a basketball game. Sinthusy spent all four years of high school participating in the broadcast program. “I love talking about football because it’s so exciting and our football team is really good,” Sinthusy said.

Before recording Tribal Review, Senior Taryn Sinthusy finishes her prep work for the week. She sits behind the desk and reads over the script carefully. She then looks up and smiles at the camera as the recording begins.

She took the first steps by taking the Introduction to Broadcasting Class and has been enrolled ever since.  Before filming, Sinthusy always takes a picture with the other two anchors before filming.

“We always take a funny picture for memories,” Sinthusy said.

She has had an interest in broadcasting since her freshman year and loves anything to do with sports, specifically football.

“My favorite part about broadcasting is doing the Indian Sports Report on Tribal Review or broadcasting football games,” Sinthusy said.

She finds spending time with friends is the most enjoyable part. Something that sticks out about Sinthusy is that she’s able to make anyone laugh.  Senior Alea Akers enjoys working with her.

“The best part about working with Taryn is she always finds something to make someone laugh,” Akers said. “Having an overall good mood in a class is key.”

Additionally, she is a reliable worker. When she puts her mind to a task, it will get done.  Senior Ashlyn Buntin appreciates her work ethic.

“She is always positive no matter what and is always really easy to work with,” Buntin said.

After high school Sinthusy plans on attending Metropolitan Community College for two years and then transferring to Northwest Missouri State. Her plans are majoring in elementary education and minoring in Spanish. She wants to teach kindergarten and loves being around little kids. Sinthusy has also been a part of the cheerleading team.

After finishing recording for the week, Sinthusy gathers her things and has a discussion with Broadcast Journalism Teacher Mr. Ben Merithew.  They review things that went well, things that have been improved since the last show, and some things that need to be improved. Sinthusy then exits out the door to head to her next class.
